DONE
Been recognized as a 2007 JCK Rising Star and 2007 JCK Show “Best new look in men’s jewelry.” Also, actually feeding and housing myself with my jewelry business.

DOING
Custom bridal and high-end one-off pieces mixed in with the modern-tribal men’s silver line.

FIRST PIECE
Clamshell earrings with galvanized steel French wires. My mother has them; I made them when I was five.

JEWELRY HEROES
Michael Good, Etienne Perret, Robert Lee Morris, Alexander Calder, and Steven Kretchmer.

DESIGN SOURCES
Natural forms: waves, fractural geometry, and feminine beauty.

FAVORITE PART OF DOING
Being responsible for someone else’s most prized possession.

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY
I really want a pattern lathe — like the ones Fabergé used to make the pattern on his eggs before enamel. Someday it will be mine.

ON BENCH NOW
A mess! Oh, jewelry-wise: several dinosaur teeth awaiting inspiration for pendants, a umber of waxes for new men’s rings in various stages of artists block, three Damascus steel wedding bands, and a number of more traditional bridal rings. All of them were seemingly due yesterday.
